Intact's adoption and surrogacy assistance benefits are available to all full-time employees who have completed at least one year of service with the company. You can be reimbursed up to the IRS limit ($16,810 in 2024) annually per household for expenses associated with the adoption of a child or hiring a surrogate– including agency fees, surrogate fees, legal fees, transportation and lodging expenses, immigration and translation fees, legal fees and court costs.
A form to claim reimbursement for adoption or surrogacy expenses can be obtained from the Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) or downloaded from the Intact Portal. As a reminder, you would also be eligible for a leave of absence of up to 12 weeks under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for the adoption of a child.
